Home / School Information / Le Viage
Le Viage is a satellite school, attached to Les Voies School for children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. All children attending Le Viage have a Determination of Need.
The Le Viage Provision was initially created in response to the needs of children with social anxiety and mental health needs who were unable to attend a mainstream setting and did not meet the criteria for Guernsey’s specialist educational provisions. Le Viage is co-located with the Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) Provision.
The children benefit from working in small groups and 1:1 with a focus on the core subjects in a calm and quiet environment. They also access Les Voies for some specialist subjects and are supported with KS4 qualification pathways as appropriate. Children also plan and cook meals in order to develop their social and life skills. The curriculum aims to prioritise these needs and create a space for learning to happen.
Positive relationships are at the heart of the curriculum and the engagement and support of students is the highest priority. It was also developed to ensure the students are accessing work at a stage that is most suitable for them.
Outcomes for children who have attended the existing Provision have been positive.
